A weekend of beauty, blossoms & surprises!
Exceptional gardeners open their yards to wandering visitors each July during LACASA’s Garden Tour Weekend.
Stroll primitive, formal and eclectic landscapes and chat with the homeowners about their gardening philosophies. Get ideas for creating garden spaces in your own country, suburban or city settings. (See tour details and map below.)
Take advantage of exciting entertainment along the way with our Stargazer Scavenger Hunt, Photo Safari Contest, Blooming Raffle, Lunch & Learn Event, and more. You might win some fabulous prizes!
All event proceeds help victims of child abuse and interpersonal violence from our community.
Highlights & Happenings
Blooming Raffle: Our lovely raffle baskets are on display at Goldblatt Garden #6. Purchase tickets for your chance to win! You can view raffle baskets in advance starting in mid-June at the LACASA Collection, our unique charity resale boutique in Howell. This gives you a chance to preview the baskets and choose your favorites. You can fill out your raffle tickets and purchase them right at the store, which saves you precious time on tour days. Visit lacasacollection.org for details.
Scavenger Hunt: Pick up an entry form at any garden and join the hunt! Each person to correctly complete and submit the scavenger hunt clue form will be entered into a drawing to win a beautiful bird house made by Linda Bader of Bader Acres in Howell. Birdhouse will be on display at Adams Garden #7
Photo Safari: While you stroll the gardens, take a picture of yourself with something beautiful, unique, or inspiring and enter our Photo Safari contest to win a LACASA Collection Gift Card! To qualify for entry, make sure you post the picture on Facebook with the hashtag: #LACASASafari2022.
Annual Quilt Raffle: Once again, the Casual Quilters Guild of Brighton has created and donated a beautiful spring-colored, reversible light-weight quilt for our fundraising raffle this year! This hand-stitched work of art is on display at DeWinkle Garden #5, where quilt raffle tickets are available. You also can view the workmanship of this quilt ahead of time and purchase quilt raffle tickets in advance at our charity resale store, the LACASA Collection, in Howell.
Artistic Praise: We want to thank our contributing artist, Lisa DeLuca, of Lisa DeLuca Fine Art, for her hand-painted Garden Tour Homeowner Slates, which are awarded annually to homeowner participants. Lisa designed the artwork for this year’s flower-of-the-year, which is a Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum × superbum).

SATURDAY – Landscaping for Birds – Birds, like all other living things, need food, water, protection, and a place to raise their young. We will discuss the incredible benefits of planting natives in your yard as not only a way to provide these essentials for the birds, but to increase the variety of bird species attracted to your yard.
SUNDAY – Hummingbirds: Nature’s Jewels – Hummingbirds are the smallest birds on earth, and even though there are more than 300 total species, they are completely unique to the New World continents. We will discuss which species can be found in the United States and here in Michigan, what they are up to this time of year, as well as offer tips and tricks for attracting them to your yard.
Space is limited. Register early!
Tickets $50 – Includes garden tour ticket,
