LACASA Center is seeking a Legal Advocate. In this professional human service position, the chosen candidate will provide support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse during the criminal justice process.  This position requires strong skills in crisis intervention, advocacy, and organization, in addition to knowledge of sexual assault and the criminal justice process.

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.  We prefer two years of experience providing support for women and/or children in crisis; and two years of experience in a related field such as women’s advocacy, women’s shelter, women’s transitional housing, or second-stage housing.  Desirable qualifications include awareness and knowledge about the dynamics of sexual assault and child sexual abuse.  We are seeking a candidate who has excellent written and oral communication skills who has the ability to communicate with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Knowledge of community resources is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
