Meet Ember: LACASA’s Canine Advocate
Ember plays an important role in LACASA’s operations, providing support to victims and survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence. While she mainly works on-site during our Child Abuse Response Effort (CARE) interviews, Ember also travels to Livingston County courts to provide support for those testifying against their perpetrator.
Ember first joined LACASA in mid-December 2024 from Leader Dogs for the Blind, after the passing our LACASA’s first Canine Advocate, Penny, in the summer of 2024. Our organization worked closely with the Canine Advocacy Program to provide Ember with extensive training to become a certified canine advocate.
