Using Stories to Start Important Conversations

March is Reading Month, and at LACASA, we’re using the power of storytelling to spark meaningful conversations with children and families.

Our team recently came together to share a reading of No Means No, a thoughtful and age-appropriate children’s book that helps young readers understand boundaries, respect, and the importance of using their voice. These early lessons are essential in helping children build confidence, develop healthy relationships, and recognize that their feelings matter.

At LACASA, we believe that prevention begins with education. Books like No Means No provide a simple, approachable way for parents, caregivers, and educators to introduce important topics and create space for open, honest dialogue.

We invite you to watch the reading with the children in your life and use it as a starting point for conversation. Together, we can help empower the next generation with the tools they need to feel heard, respected, and supported.
