Working together to address abuse & violence

LACASA’s Community Response Team is comprised of three sub groups that focus on specific target areas: Domestic Violence Task Force (DVTF), Sexual Violence Task Force (SVTF), and Community Awareness Task Force (CATF).

The five major goals of the Community Response Team are to:

  1. Support and maintain a connection between a broad community of professionals who interact with families and individuals that may be experiencing child abuse, intimate partner violence and/or sexual violence in Livingston County.
  2. Establish and maintain a coordinated community approach to the prevention of child abuse, intimate partner violence and/or sexual violence.
  3. Establish and maintain a coordinated community response when violence is occurring, including review and revision of local policies and practices based on Michigan Model polices (see Livingston County Law Enforcement Response to Sexual Assault).
  4. Provide ongoing education and awareness of state-wide policy change, best practices, and LACASA services to Livingston County professionals who interact with families and individuals that may be experiencing child abuse, intimate partner violence and/or sexual violence.
  5. Offer community awareness opportunities for the general public to raise consciousness about the prevalence, incidence and dynamics of child abuse, intimate partner violence and/or sexual violence.
