More Survivors Reaching Out for Help
Reflecting on community needs in 2025 and beyond.

In 2025, more individuals and families turned to LACASA for support than ever before, reflecting the growing need for shelter, advocacy, counseling, and prevention services for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence in Livingston County.
LACASA’s Crisis Shelter operated at full capacity throughout the year, with survivors staying longer as they worked toward stability amid a severe shortage of affordable housing. Staff and volunteers also responded to an increased number of crisis calls, providing 24/7 support when survivors needed it most.
Children remained central to LACASA’s work, with more children receiving forensic interviews and counseling to begin healing while minimizing additional trauma. Clinical services expanded for survivors of all ages and backgrounds, including a rise in male survivors seeking care.
Despite funding challenges, prevention efforts continued to grow, including expanded support for families through Healthy Families Livingston. Community support, through donations, volunteers, and events, remains essential to meeting the rising demand for services.
Help ensure survivors can access care when they need it most!
